TOP 5 NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS FOR REALTORS

Naturally, the best way to make the most of the New Year is to learn from the previous one. To start off the New Year strong and see persistent growth throughout, realtors can make sincere resolutions and stick to them. New Year’s Resolutions aren’t always easy to come up with, but we’ve done a little digging and come up with a few.

Here are the top five New Year’s resolutions for realtors:

1. Develop a Business Plan

Before starting a New Year of business, it’s important to have a plan in place. You may find that your business plan changes as the year progresses, but as long as you have a solid base to start from, you’ll be prepared. Start by framing your vision for the New Year: what you want your business to look like by this time next year. Set clear goals that you can actually reach in every area of your business, like sales, marketing, and client retention. You can have specific numbers for these goals or just a basic concept. Track your progress throughout the year to make sure you’re on track.

2. Strengthen Marketing Efforts

Whether your current marketing is highly effective or you can see some room for improvement, starting the year with an informed, powerful marketing effort will help you reach the goals you develop as part your business plan. Maybe next year will be the year you really stick to your blogging schedule, or maybe you plan on having a more active presence on social media. You can’t succeed as a realtor without strong marketing. Who are your marketing targets and what are their interests? Make sure your strategy is the right fit.

3. Manage Time More Effectively

Effective time management is a popular New Year’s resolution for most people, but it’s especially pertinent to realtors. As daily tasks pile up, it can be difficult to accomplish everything you’ve set out to do in a given month. Your clients are your most important asset, so sometimes meeting with them can take precedence over everything else. Make sure you block out some time every day to work on the tasks you were forced to neglect. Most importantly, resolve to take a break. Make some time for yourself at the end of the day so you are well-rested and well-prepared to take on the next.

4. Make Use of Resources

These days, realtors have access to an abundance of tools that are both technological and personal. If you work as part of a team, your team is your most valuable resource. Don’t be afraid to rely on them for their skills and expertise when you need them most. If you use digital tools, there could be some applications that you aren’t taking advantage of. You may want to use a digital calendar to track your tasks instead of a paper planner, or maybe you have a business page on social media that you could revamp to attract new clients. Need to catch up on the latest industry information? Try taking advantage of online educational tools or going to seminars.

5. Stay Healthy

Possibly the most popular New Year’s Resolution of all time, getting and staying healthy can be challenging for busy realtors just as it can be for anyone else. You can take simple steps to work toward this resolution, like eating better, exercising, and getting more sleep. Sometimes, staying healthy is just a matter of good time management and making better choices when the opportunity arises. Above everything else, if you resolve to stay healthy and stick to that resolution, you’re bound to have a happy, prosperous New Year.

Regardless of whether your resolution is personal or business related, we hope you stick to it and see a year filled with personal growth, prosperity, and happiness.
